Marine Operations

Our highly experienced and competent marine operations team manages stand-alone client projects as well as providing support to Kvaerner’s in-house EPCI projects.

Kvaerner offers the following marine operations services:

  • Tow-out and installation of gravity base structures (GBS), semi-submersibles, spar platforms and FPSOs
  • Float-overs and deck mating
  • Marine operations related to decommissioning of platforms (topsides and substructures) and subsea equipment
  • Marine operations support to Kvaerner’s projects within offshore wind and offshore fish farming

Our marine operations capabilities include complete project management and marine engineering, utilising Kvaerner’s proven project execution model (PEMTM). The marine operations team collaborates closely with our procurement, HSSE and project control teams to ensure execution to agreed cost, on schedule and with no harm to personnel, the environment or equipment.

We have a significantly sized team of mariners and engineers with extensive experience from multidiscipline marine projects. Additionally, we draw on experienced engineers internally in Kvaerner, for easy and cost-effective access to specialist competence related to specific platform types or construction materials.

Kvaerner works independently of vessel operators and conducts vessel sourcing and selection based on our clients’ specific installation requirements, using third party or client chartered vessels.
