The Contracts Department consists of several lawyers and contracts personnel and is responsible for all operational contracts across Kvaerner’s business areas and locations. Your tasks will include contract work from an early pursuit phase, tendering, during execution of projects and warranty matters. You will be part of a multi-discipline pursuit/tender or project team where you will be responsible for the establishment, review and management of a large variety of contracts and contract related matters in different business segments. A multi-discipline attitude is essential as your work involves the understanding of inter-discipline tasks and being responsible for inter-discipline deliveries.

Responsibilities and tasks


  • Pursuit Support to Business Areas and Business Development activities
  • General contract support of Business Development and Pursuit activities
  • Development or advice on contract and partnering strategies
  • Development or support of developing relationships with strategic partners and/ or subcontractors
  • Development of contract templates and contract formats
  • Support Procurement in Sourcing strategies
  • Development and execution of internal requirements, policies and processes related to contractual activities
  • Liaise with other disciplines and corporate support functions (corporate legal, finance, insurance, etc.) to ensure best quality and compliance with corporate requirements 
  • Contract responsible in a tender as part of a multi-discipline tender team
  • Provide contract related deliverables under the tender and be part of the tender approval process
  • Clarifications and negotiations with partners, customers and suppliers
  • Take on contract and/ or commercial positions in projects with responsibilities towards, clients, subcontractors or suppliers
  • Support of Warranty Claims

Qualifications & Personal attributes

  • Higher Education in Law
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience with contract establishment and management during all phase of the contract cycle 
  • Relevant experience with partnering, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Negotiation skills and experience
  • Understand inter-disciplinary relations and requirements
  • Commercial Awareness
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Open and direct dialogue with stakeholders
  • Organizational skills
  • Fluent in the English language
