Kvaerner’s yard in Verdal provides large oil and gas steel substructures – “jackets” – and offshore wind steel substructures. The fabrication yard is located in the middle of Norway.

Strong track record with continuous jacket deliveries for 35 years. Here, from the jacket delivered by Kvaerner on the Valhall field in the North Sea.
“
The North Sea market leader for larger jackets and complex projects
”
Kvaerner is the leading contractor for delivery of jacket structures for the North Sea market - henceforth increasing the ambitions to be a preferred contractor for selected markets in a global perspective.
The Jackets business area represents execution and design excellence through a strong track record with 35 oil and gas jackets delivered since 1975.
More than 700 own employees and a number of hired-ins and sub-contractors constitute a multitude of experience and variety in age, know-how, gender and culture.
Kvaerner offers in-house and integrated specialised engineering capacity, providing a truly seamless engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) solution to the client, with effective fabrication methods, cost-efficient solutions and strong relationships with key clients and suppliers.
During the years, we have developed and continuously refined our Jacket Project Execution Model (PEM) for execution of EPC contracts fully integrated with our in-house design office and in continuous and close cooperation with the supply chain including steel manufacturing, rolling of tubulars and provision of cast nodes. Our skilled, experienced and well trained project management, engineers and workforce ensure safe performance, experience continuity and competence, and ensure delivery of projects to schedule, cost and quality requirements.
The main ambition is to be the preferred EPC partner for advanced substructure projects for the oil and gas market, and to secure cost leadership through standardisation and efficient technical solutions.
Kværner Verdal entered the market for substructures for Offshore Wind in 2007 with award of the fabrication contract with Multibrid GmbH for delivery of 6 tripods for the German Client in 2008. In 2010 Kvaerner strengthened its position in the Offshore Wind Market with award of 49 jackets for Nordsee Ost Offshore Windfarm in Germany with its own EPC concept. Our main market for offshore wind jackets is Europe.
